So earlier this school year we had our annual Red Ribbon Week. This is the say no to drugs week, and drug awareness and all that. It was very enlightening and entertaining sometimes.
One of the days, I taught a lesson using the health book about alcohol. I was seeing how much they knew so we discussed the different things that were alcohol. You know I was expecting wine, beer, liquor, whatever. As we were going through the list. One of my girls raises her hand and says, "Smirnoff". Knowing the name brands...funny or sad? Or a little of both perhaps. They sure wanted to tell stories. I had to stop before I knew way more than I wanted to.
Then another day, we were discussing nicotine. We talk about how its bad for you. I'm sure the kids go home and make their parents who smoke feel bad. One girl shared how sometimes when her parents don't have money she thinks, they smoke nicotine in this thing, where you put the nicotine on top, and you have these tubes that you smoke out of. Yep, she sure did describe a hookah in detail.
P.S. Isn't that such a cute lil vodka shaker thing? Want one...but without the words on it.
